Microsoft Power BI is revolutionizing the self-service BI space. Fostering a data-driven culture is a huge opportunity for the organization. Information needs to be in the hands and at the fingertips of everyone in the organization. The decisions should be based on facts, not on opinion. However, self-service BI adoption is also a challenge. Microsoft Power BI is continually working to democratize the BI and infuse data insights in every part of the organization. Power BI’s recent announcement to add a Power BI tab for Microsoft Teams is another step towards that. The new tab allows users to access data insights where they collaborate and make information available as part of your routine.
When the Power BI report is added as a tab to the Teams channel, it is accessible by everyone who is part of the channel and also has access to the report. It makes the data available for the decision without taking an extra step for going to the Power BI service.
Enabling the Data Culture
MS Teams integration of Power BI will make another step to get self-service BI adoption across the organization. By integrating the appropriate report to the teams channel would allow using data insights as part of the daily routine. More and more questions can be asked and results can be discussed in conversations, better decisions can be made. Finally, it will also allow the report to be added directly to the invite while scheduling the meetings.
